Surviving

To me, surviving is a lonely business.

We've got to be tough, lied to ourself that we're fine. Finding some merely good things to laugh at though it may not be funny, but we're tried to, 'cause our head so fully loaded. We can't even drop the tears down from our very own eyes, 'cause you don't have your private space. You're stuck in the middle of people that watch you over and over, waiting for that time to laugh at you when you fall down. Which can be fun for them seeing other's fails.

You need to make sure you're always alright. Because you know exactly, nobody will catch you when you fall. You lean on your own back, others hold on tight to your shoulders. No back up.

Surviving.

The only word you got at last.

Sometimes we deny the irony of how hunger we are to compassion. We become cold through the time we had pass, but we didn't notice until they told us so. We're getting bitter day by day because we don't want to be sensitive admitting our feelings.

Sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up and biting us in the ass. And when the dam bursts, all you can do is swim. The world of pretend is a cage, not a cocoon. We can only lie to ourselves for so long. We are tired, we are scared, denying it doesn't change the truth. Sooner or later we have to put aside our denial and face the world. Head on, guns blazing. De Nile. It's not just a river in Egypt, it's a freakin' ocean. So how do you keep from drowning in it?"
